Fire in vacant building on Verplanck probed

Buffalo fire investigators are probing an early morning fire Tuesday in a vacant building on Verplanck Street.
The blaze began just after 2 a. m. in the 2z-story structure at 60 Verplanck. Firefighters arrived to find the attic fully involved in flames. Damage was pegged at $20,000. An emergency demolition was ordered.
