Police probe shooting near East Ferry, Cornwall

A Buffalo man paroled after serving time for drugs was shot up to seven times Monday evening near East Ferry Street and Cornwall Avenue.

Law enforcement sources said Clinton C. Griffin, 34, was shot just before 9:30 p. m. and rushed to Erie County Medical Center, where he underwent surgery.

Preliminary reports said he was shot in the chest, arm, back and stomach. Sources said at least one bullet lodged near his spine.

The law enforcement source said Griffin was uncooperative and that police found a large quantity of crack cocaine in his vehicle.
