Schiller Park shooting claims life of man, 23

Homicide detectives are investigating the fatal shooting of a 23-year-old man in the city’s Schiller Park neighborhood early Saturday.
The shooting occurred shortly after midnight in the 2100 block of Genesee Street, near Crossman Avenue. The victim was getting into his vehicle when he was shot several times, according to Michael J. DeGeorge, Buffalo police spokesman.
He was driven by friends to Erie County Medical Center, where he later died.
DeGeorge declined to release the name of the victim late Saturday.
