Man hospitalized in crash with tractor

Story tools:

CARLTON—A pickup ran into a parked farm tractor in the Town of Carlton early Saturday, sending a 22- year-old Albion man to the hospital.

Jonathan R. Soule was traveling west in a Ford F-150 on Ashwood Road when he struck the farm tractor head-on, Orleans County sheriff’s deputies said.

The John Deere tractor, operated by Joseph L. Webster, 30, of Elba, was loading corn into a tractor-trailer at the time.

Soule had to be freed from the pickup by Carlton and Albion firefighters. He was taken by ambulance to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester and faces a charge of aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
