Accused cheese thief charged with DWI

NIAGARA FALLS—A shoplifting suspect who ran a red light late Friday is charged with felony driving while intoxicated.
Jack C. Lane, 37, of 13th Street, is accused of stealing several blocks of Velveeta cheese from a Wilson Farms store on Pine Avenue. Police pulled his car over just before midnight. Lane, who previously was convicted of driving while intoxicated, also is charged with petit larceny, passing a red light, failure to signal a turn and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation.
