2 shot sitting on porch of Emerson Place home

Two young men were wounded, one critically, when they were shot late Friday afternoon as they sat on a porch in the city’s Masten District, Buffalo police said.
Homicide detectives are investigating the shooting, which occurred just after 5 p. m. at 59 Emerson Place, between Michigan and Masten avenues, said Michael J. DeGeorge, a Buffalo police spokesman.
Eric Hemphill, 20, of Buffalo, was struck in the upper body and was listed in critical condition in Erie County Medical Center. Marcus Young, 19, also of Buffalo, was shot in the wrist and also was taken to ECMC for treatment, police said.
