Theft of energy drink results in 60-day sentence

Story tools:

LOCKPORT—A man who had been given a one-year conditional discharge for two misdemeanors was sentenced to 60 days in jail Wednesday by Niagara County Judge Matthew J. Murphy III.

Nathan A. Carey, 20, of 15th Street, Niagara Falls, had to stay out of trouble as a condition of his discharge on charges of second-degree criminal trespass and petit larceny. But he was arrested in Niagara Falls for stealing a can of energy drink, and pleaded guilty to attempted petit larceny in City Court on March 9.

Carey’s original case charged him with breaking into a house on Fifth Street in Niagara Falls on July 14.
