Woman, boyfriend charged after biting, scratching
SILVER CREEK—A woman is accused of biting and scratching her boyfriend in a domestic dispute Sunday afternoon that left both of them facing criminal charges, according to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded at 5:20 p. m. Sunday to a report of a despondent woman knocking on the door of an Angell Road home.
The woman, who said she had been assaulted by her boyfriend, was found and taken back to her residence on Angell Road.
Deputies interviewed Jennifer Near, 20, and her boyfriend, Matthew Taylor, of Jamestown, at the house and determined Near had started the fight by biting and scratching Taylor. He was taken to Lake Shore Health Care Center, Irving, for treatment of his injuries.
Near was charged with third-degree assault. Taylor was charged with second-degree criminal contempt for violating an order of protection barring him from contacting Near. They were arraigned in Hanover Town Court.
