Getzville girl on bike hit by car, injured

A Getzville girl was being treated for a head injury Friday evening in Women&Children’s Hospital after being hit by a car while attempting to cross Campbell Boulevard near Walton Way on her bicycle, Amherst police said.

Victoria Licata, 15, was listed in stable condition, according to Amherst police Capt. Patrick McKenna. The incident occurred just before 3 p. m.

Police identified the driver of the car, a 2006 Lincoln Navigator, as James L. Collins Sr., 70, of Clarence, who was headed south on Campbell. An investigation is under way.
