West Seneca collisions injure two motorcyclists

Story tools:

Two motorcyclists were injured Sunday in separate collisions in West Seneca, police there reported Monday.

The first incident occurred at about 8:40 a. m. on Clinton Street when Michael Haynes, no age listed, of Buffalo, was traveling east on Clinton when a vehicle tried to enter the road, police said.

Haynes “put his bike down” in an attempt to avoid a collision. He was transported to Mercy Hospital with burns and scrapes to his arms, torso and legs.

Then, at about 11:30 a. m., at Route 240 and Reserve Road, another motorcyclist, Joseph Esposito, no age listed, of West Seneca, was traveling south on Route 240 when a vehicle pulled out in front of his bike.

Esposito tried to avoid the collision and went off the road, striking a telephone pole. He was ejected from the vehicle. Esposito suffered a fractured collarbone and was treated for shock in Mercy Hospital, police said.

Police said Esposito was cited for unsafe passing. The other driver was issued a ticket for failing to yield the right of way.
