Olean motorcyclist hurt; other driver charged
ALLEGANY—An Olean man on a motorcycle was injured Saturday afternoon in a crash with a vehicle on Route 417, officials with the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office said.
The driver of the vehicle, Andrea Falk, 45, of Port Allegany, Pa., was trying to make a left turn out of the Wal- Mart access road and failed to see the motorcycle traveling west on Route 417, sheriff’s officials said.
The motorcyclist, Craig Hanmann, 61, of Gargoyle Road, Olean, was unable to stop and collided with Falk’s vehicle.
Hanmann was taken to Olean General Hospital for multiple injuries. Falk and her passenger, Ron Falk, 44, were not hurt.
Both the motorcycle and Falk’s vehicle were substantially damaged.
Andrea Falk was issued a traffic ticket for failure to yield the right of way and is scheduled to appear in Allegany Town Court at a later date.
