Call to 911 leads to arrest of two burglary suspects
An alert neighbor’s call to 911 Thursday afternoon led to the arrest of two burglary suspects in Marilla and the recovery of some stolen money, the Erie County Sheriff’s Office reports.
Arrested were Joseph T. Jurek, 19, of Bush Gardens, Marilla, and a 13- year-old juvenile. Jurek was charged with third-degree burglary and endangering the welfare of a child. He was taken to Erie County Holding Center pending arraignment. The juvenile will be petitioned to Family Court.
The neighbor tipped off deputies about 1:50 p. m. after she saw a youth get out of a car, put on a mask and go to the rear of a nearby home. Deputies arrived and caught the 13-year-old inside the house and recovered about $100. The car drove away, but officers had a description, tracked it down and arrested Jurek.
