Driver issued tickets in Stockton encounter
STOCKTON—A Brocton driver has been accused of forcing another vehicle off Coe Road in the Town of Stockton and stealing the keys from that vehicle before fleeing, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office reported Monday.
Deputies said the driver of the other vehicle pulled over shortly before 8 p. m. Saturday to avoid being hit by Sarah L. Trombetta, 24.
Trombetta then stopped her vehicle, got out, reached into the other vehicle and grabbed the keys out of the ignition, deputies said.
The keys eventually were found in a ditch a short distance away.
Trombetta was located the next day and issued appearance tickets for petit larceny and two counts of reckless endangerment. No motive was given for the actions.
