Fire destroys large barn near Chestnut Ridge Park
Fire destroyed a large barn Tuesday evening on the same property in Orchard Park where fire damaged a house last fall, according to fire service reports.
Tuesday’s fire broke out at about 6:15 p. m. in an unattached barn at 6244 Chestnut Ridge Road. Volunteers from the Hillcrest, Windom, Orchard Park, North Boston, Armor and Newton Abbott fire companies responded to the large blaze, which collapsed the barn, according to reports.
No injuries were reported. Damage estimates were still being tabulated, fire officials said late Tuesday. The cause remained under investigation.
The site just outside Chestnut Ridge Park is the same address where an early morning house fire broke out Nov. 21. In that fire, the homeowner and his family escaped without injury, according to fire service reports. According to Erie County property records, the property is owned by Raymond and Sharon Stevens.
