Teen accused of tampering with Internet account

DARIEN—A Darien teenager faces criminal tampering after she accessed and made changes to another person’s Internet account without permission, Genesee County sheriff’s officials said Tuesday.
Brittany N. Barto, 17, of Dodgeson Road, was issued a ticket to appear in Darien Town Court on March 24 to answer the charge. Authorities said Barto’s actions caused the victim “a substantial inconvenience.” However, authorities did not elaborate on the nature of the changes Barto made to the account.
