House burglary brings prison term of 6 years
LITTLE VALLEY—A Randolph man was sentenced to six years in prison for burglarizing a Coldspring house last January, according to a report Monday from Edward M. Sharkey, Cattaraugus County district attorney.
James R. Olson, 24, was also ordered to serve a two-to-four-year sentence for attempted burglary in connection with a Feb. 2, 2008, attempted break-in in South Valley, Sharkey said. The two sentences will be served concurrently.
Meanwhile, two other Cattaraugus County residents were sentenced for unrelated crimes, officials announced Monday.
David A. Foster, 52, of Olean, was sentenced to 5z ye 1/2 r 1/3 in prison after his conviction on a felony charge of criminal sale of a controlled substance. Authorities said Foster sold crack cocaine in Olean in September 2007.
East Otto resident Shane M. Sinnott, 31, will serve a year in Cattaraugus County Jail on weekends for driving while intoxicated, aggravated unlicensed operation and unreasonable speed.
Sinnott was drunk and committing other violations when he was arrested by police Jan. 21, 2008 in the Town of Ashford.
Besides the jail time, Sinnott had his driver’s license revoked and was fined $1,600.
