Not-guilty plea entered to Lockport drug charge
LOCKPORT — A Waterman Street man pleaded not guilty at his Niagara County Court arraignment on a drug charge Monday.
Joseph R. Kress, 23, is charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Lockport police arrested him June 7 in his home when they checked out a report of shattering glass.
Police said they found the window in his front door broken and, inside the home, alleged cocaine on the table; a prescription bottle with chunks of crack cocaine under a sofa cushion where Kress had been sitting; and $404 in rolled-up dollar bills and a smoking pipe under the sofa.
