Ex-drug company worker admits stealing pills

Story tools:

A Depew man faces up to four years in prison and a $250,000 fine after admitting he stole drugs from his West Seneca workplace, U. S. Attorney Terrance P. Flynn reported Wednesday. Timothy Maracle, 29, was employed by McKesson Drug Co. when he entered a secured area containing controlled substances and stole hydrocodone tablets.

The thefts occurred between November 2007 and February 2008.

Maracle made off with about 2,000 pills before management discovered empty containers in the warehouse, Assistant U. S. Attorney James Q. Auricchio reported.

Maracle subsequently admitted to Drug Enforcement Administration investigators that he stole the tablets to feed an addiction. He pleaded guilty to a charge of obtaining a controlled substance by fraud.

Maracle is scheduled to be sentenced April 29 before Chief U. S. District Judge Richard J. Arcara.
