Bank worker admits sharing child porn

Story tools:

A Blasdell man who works in the field of information technology pleaded guilty Monday to a felony charge of possession of Internet images of child pornography.

The U. S. attorney’s office said John Cote, 49, of Lake Avenue, faces a prison term of 10 years under sentencing guidelines. U. S. District Judge Richard J. Arcara scheduled sentencing for April 14.

In 2007, Buffalo FBI agents found Cote was using the Limewire.com file-sharing network to share Internet child porn images with other men, prosecutor Charles B. Sydysh said.

Cote is an information technology worker for a local bank, Wydysh said, adding that agents found no evidence indicating that Cote ever used the bank’s computers to send or receive child pornography.
