Man gets a year in jail on contempt conviction

Story tools:

A Buffalo man was sentenced by Buffalo City Judge Debra L. Givens to a year in jail on his criminal contempt conviction for violating an order of protection and taking his ex-girlfriend from her Vermont Street home last summer.

Brock Pawling, 39, of 16th Street, has been in custody since his arrest last July 10 in the 100 block of Camden Avenue — 15 hours after he took the 35-year-old woman from her home, according to Holly P. Tucker, new chief of the Erie County district attorney’s Domestic Violence Bureau.
