Police probing incident involving ex-Bills player

Story tools:

Buffalo police are continuing to investigate an alleged assault involving a former Buffalo Bills player, a department spokesman said Sunday.

A 30-year-old Buffalo man told police he attempted to shake the former player’s hand outside a Chippewa Street bar at about 2:15 a. m. Friday when the player punched him in the face.

The man suffered a cut to his bottom lip and lost a tooth, according to a police report. No charges have been filed, but investigators are still talking with witnesses, said police spokesman Michael J. DeGeorge.

The victim was treated and released from Buffalo Veterans Affairs Medical Center, police said. The alleged altercation took place outside Liars, 47 W. Chippewa St.
