12 families routed by fire in Grand Island apartments
A dozen families were made homeless by a fire about 9:30 p. m. Tuesday in a Grand Island apartment building, authorities said.
The fire erupted in a third-floor apartment of the 12-unit building at 2268 Center Terrace, Grand Island fire authorities said. One person was taken to Kenmore Mercy Hospital for smoke inhalation and another was treated at the scene, fire officials said.
What triggered the fire remains under investigation by sheriff’s fire investigators.
