Buffalo man killed in crash near Union City, Pa.
A Buffalo man was killed Thursday afternoon when his car went out of control on a snow-covered road and collided with another vehicle in northwestern Pennsylvania, according to state police in Corry, Pa.
John C. Oshei, 58, of Depew Avenue, was pronounced dead in Hamot Medical Center, Erie, Pa., following the accident, which occurred at about 5:25 p. m. on Route 8, a few miles south of Union City, Pa. The crash site is about 30 miles southeast of Erie, Pa.
State police said Oshei’s convertible was northbound on Route 8, a two-lane road, when the car slid into the path of a southbound Jeep driven by an Erie woman. The SUV struck the side of Oshei’s car.
Oshei was not wearing a seat belt, police said.
