BASKETBALL OFFICIALS: Western New York Board 53 of the International Association of Approved Basketball Officials will hold clinics for new officials Oct. 5, Oct. 13, Oct. 19 and Oct. 26 at 6 p. m. at JFK High School, 305 Cayuga Creek Road, Cheektowaga. SOFTBALL: The Niagara-Wheatfield Lady Hurricanes 12-under and 14-under travel teams will hold a tryout Sept. 12 at 10 a. m. at the Niagara- Wheatfield High School diamonds on Saunders Settlement Road. Entry fee is $200 for the double-elimination event. The tournament is being played in memory of: A. C. Farrait, Frankie Vega Jr., Jonathan Singer, Velmon Davis, Eddie Tirado and Mark Carlson.
