The Buffalo Junior Sabres of the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) won the third annual Canisius College Showcase sweeping all four of its games. Its last two wins came against teams from the Atlantic Junior hockey league: the New York Bobcats and the New Jersey Rockets.

Also in the tournament, The Buffalo Regals under-18 team won its division. Their 4-0 record included wins over Gilmour Academy and the Tri-State Selects.

BASEBALL: The Boys of Summer youth travel league has scheduled an open manager/ coach information meeting at the Holiday Inn Airport, 4600 Genesee St., Cheektowaga for Feb. 15 at 1 p. m. New coaches and teams are welcome. Independent and town-affiliated teams from WNY and Canada have their roots in this league. Call Tim Crowley at 796-4700 or visit: www.wnyboysofsumer.com.

SOFTBALL: Buffalo State is offering a pitching clinic on six consecutive Sunday mornings starting this Sunday. Sessions are at 9 a. m., 10 a. m. and 11 a. m. The clinic costs $90 and is open to students in grades 1-12 from beginner to elite levels. Pitchers must provide their own catchers. The clinic will be in the Buffalo State Sports Arena.
