Calendar says November; weather says otherwise

Story tools:

Don't let the clouds fool you. We're in for another dry day, the National Weather Service tells us.

How's this for a mid-November forecast: Dry and tranquil.

Today will be cloudy, with a high near 57, with west winds between 8 and 11 mph.

So our stretch of dry weather and above normal temperature continues.

"It's not unusual to have a warm day in November, but what is unusual is how long its lasting," said meteorologist Jon Hitchcock of the Weather Service office in Cheektowaga. "Most of the days in the next week will be above average."

Temperatures today should reach the upper 50s to near 60 before turning cooler. The normal for this time of year is about 47.

A weak cold front will be passing through. The chance of any showers is extremely low, but there have been a few over Michigan, so it's not impossible for a few sprinkles later this afternoon, the Weather Service said.

Tonight will be mostly cloudy, with a low around 37.

Monday will be partly sunny, with a high near 49.
