Motorcyclist injured in collision with deer

Story tools:

A motorcyclist from Wyoming County struck a deer and was thrown from his vehicle Monday evening in Genesee County, sheriff's officials there reported today.

Jeffrey M. Dorris, 43, of Warsaw, was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, where he was listed in satisfactory condition today.

Genesee County sheriff's deputies said Dorris was southbound on Route 19 in the Town of Pavilion at about 6:10 p.m. Monday, when a deer attempted to cross the highway from the west shoulder.

The motorcycle struck the deer in the southbound lane, and Dorris landed in the middle of the road with his vehicle on top of him.
