Stabbing victim found hiding in closet

Story tools:

NIAGARA FALLS -- A man stabbed on Buffalo Avenue early this morning who fled when a friend called an ambulance was later found hiding in a closet.

The friend told police he heard an argument outside his apartment, near Buffalo Avenue and 73rd Street, at about 1 a.m. The man then found the victim with a stab wound in the rib area, according to a city police report.

The man tried to attend to the victim's wound, but the victim ran away when the friend placed a call to emergency responders.

When the ambulance crew arrived, the victim could not be found. The victim was later discovered hiding in the closet of another apartment in the building a short time later, and the ambulance was called back to the scene.

The victim refused medical treatment and would not provide the name or whereabouts of his attacker, according to the report.
