Forget about those snow shovels
"Nothing but good news" is how meteorologists describe the weather on tap for Western New York, especially the rest of today and Monday.
It should be sunny with highs near 65 degrees both days, said Steve McLaughlin, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service office in Cheektowaga.
In fact, highs will be pretty close to the record, which was 69 for today, set in 1945. Monday's record high was 70 -- set back in 1891, McLaughlin said. We will probably be just short of that.
"It just doesn't get any better than this for November," the meteorologist said. "We're getting some nice bonus weather here ... So people can put those snow shovels away and not sign those (snow plowing) contracts yet."
There's a chance of a shower Tuesday, but Wednesday through Friday should be nice, as well, McLaughlin said, though not quite as warm. Highs the latter part of the week should be in the lower 50s or upper 40s. Lows early in the week should be near 50, before dipping to the more seasonal 30s later in the week.
