Three injured in crash on Niagara Falls Boulevard
Three people were seriously injured this morning in a two-car collision at the intersection of Niagara Falls Boulevard and Ward Road in Wheatfield, Niagara County sheriff's deputies reported.
The crash occurred just before 7:30 a.m., when Daniel Hernandez, 24, of Buffalo, who was driving south on the boulevard, collided with a northbound car as he attempted to turn left onto Ward.
The sun was in Hernandez's line of vision, which also was obstructed by another vehicle in front of him, deputies said.
The driver of the northbound vehicle, Kelsey Broadley, 17, of Wheatfield, and two passengers — a 13-year-old sibling whom deputies didn't identify and Kayla Jones, 17, also of Wheatfield — were injured. They were taken to Women and Children's Hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
Hernandez was taken to DeGraff Memorial Hospital with minor injuries, deputies said.
An investigation continues.
