Hand grenade found in Falls, Ont., park

NIAGARA FALLS, Ont. -- A man walking his dog this morning discovered a hand grenade near the baseball diamond area of Oakes Park, Niagara Regional Police said.

The department's Emergency Disposal Unit was brought in to remove the device, which was found in the grass under some leaves.

The device was a model M61 practice grenade, and the pin had not been pulled, according to a statement released by police.
