Rockwell Hall unveils lineup for Great Performers Series

The Performing Arts Center at Rockwell Hall on the Buffalo State College campus released the schedule of the 2008-2009 Great Performers Series this morning. The series, which attracts world-renowned artists, will feature eight musical performances throughout the year.
Tickets go on sale at 9 a.m. Aug. 25. All shows cost $30 to $37. With a Flex Pack, patrons can purchase tickets to any three or more shows for as low as $27 each. Tickets are available at the Rockwell Hall Box Office (1300 Elmwood Ave.), by calling 878-3005 or by visiting www.buffalostate.edu/pac. The series schedule is as follows:
Take 6 (Oct. 4): This 10-time Grammy Award-winning a cappella group has spent two decades perfecting their sound.
Earl Klugh (Nov. 8): A jazz guitar legend known for his aggressive playing style.
Marc Broussard (Nov. 15): A soul singer who blends Louisiana blues and rock 'n' roll.
Eileen Ivers (Dec. 20): Performing with her band, Immigrant Soul, Celtic superstar Ivers will perform a holiday show.
Rhonda Vincent (Jan. 23): Mixing traditional bluegrass with a more modern sound, Vincent has been hailed the "new queen of bluegrass" by the Wall Street Journal.
Steve Tyrell (April 24): The Grammy Award-winning vocalist will perform songs from his new CD, "Back to Bacharach."
Ottmar Liebert (May 2): Performing with his band, Luna Negra, Liebert's guitar style has redefined flamenco music.
Arlo Guthrie (May 6): One of the world's most popular folk artists, Guthrie's music blends classic folk music with political and social commentary.
