General Motors said it has agreed to provide as much as $200 million to help end the two-month strike at American Axle & Manufacturing.
The news came Thursday in a regulatory filing by GM. American Axle is GM's largest axle supplier. The walkout started Feb. 26.
The GM funds would be used for costs such as early retirements, buyouts and and buydowns for American Axle workers. About 580 workers in the Buffalo area are among the 3,650 on strike.
