It appears millions will lose insurance

How many times in the last three years have you heard President Obama’s statement that no one will lose his medical insurance under the Affordable Care Act? Now consider what was written in the July 4 News under the heading “Surprise delay in mandate roils health debate.”

This article mentions that the law requires companies with more than 50 full-time employees to provide health care coverage for each employee or pay a penalty of $2,000 per worker. Now the clincher. Further on, this article states that the federal government will lose $10 billion in employer penalties in 2015 because of this delay.

You do the math – $10 billion divided by a penalty of $2,000 per person equals 5 million. Yes, your government is calculating that in the first year of Obama’s health care plan, 5 million Americans will lose their health care because companies will pay the $2,000 penalty rather than continue their insurance coverage. Will you be one of those 5 million the Obama administration is actually counting on to lose out? Will you be one of those 5 million who then will be scrutinized, monitored and threatened by the IRS if you don’t buy your own insurance? What about our president’s solemn promise?
