The Maryvale Board of Education elected new leadership Monday night, as Patrick Weisansal and Tammy McCarthy were appointed president and vice president, respectively, during the board’s annual re-organizational meeting.

A third-year board member, Weisansal was unanimously elected to his first term as president. He works as a radiologic technologist.

McCarthy, a stay-at-home mother and part-time waitress, is also beginning her third year on the board. Both Weisansal and McCarthy received unanimous support from board members and will serve one-year terms in their positions.
