NIAGARA FALLS – A Linwood Avenue man said $1,380 worth of roofing tools were stolen from his home while he was out of his apartment Monday.

The victim said he stores the tools in the basement and underneath the basement stairs and left his tools behind on Monday because he didn’t need them for the job. He said he returned at 6:30 p.m. Monday and they were gone. A framing gun, magnet, climbing harness, 400 feet of climbing rope, a pair of spikes and tear off bars were taken.

There was no sign of forced entry and the victim told police he suspects a man he allowed in his apartment and gave a job. He said the man was not a good worker and was kicked out of his apartment. He said the suspect is a roofer, but does not have tools of his own.
