LOCKPORT – James E. Stahl, 45, of John Street, Lockport, who washed out of a court-supervised drug treatment program as a free man, should receive his treatment behind bars, Niagara County Judge Sara Sheldon Farkas recommended Wednesday.
Stahl, who had pleaded guilty in November 2011 to third-degree burglary, was sent to Willard Correctional Facility, home of the state prison system’s secure drug treatment facility. If he succeeds there, he’ll be paroled in three months; if not, he’ll serve two to four years in a regular cell.
Stahl broke into a residential garage on Walnut Street in Lockport May 24, 2011, and stole electric heaters and a cast-iron band saw. He was supposed to pay $4,350 in restitution.
