An East Aurora man faces drunken driving charges after Erie County sheriff’s officials said he was speeding while drunk early Sunday on Grand Island.
Max Nelson, 29, was swerving and speeding on East River Road at 3:20 a.m., officials said.
A breath test measured his blood-alcohol content at 0.17 percent, officials said, more than twice the legal limit.
Nelson was convicted of drunken driving in March 2007, they added, so he was charged Sunday with felony driving while intoxicated and traffic charges.
He was taken to the Erie County Holding Center pending arraignment in Grand Island Town Court.
