LOCKPORT – A Niagara County Legislature committee has approved the low bid for the repaving of Stone Road in the Town of Lockport.
Accadia Site Contracting of Depew offered to do the work for just under $1.6 million, underbidding five other firms. The full Legislature is expected to award the contract June 18. The work area will extend from Johnson Road to the Cambria-Lockport border.
Richard W. Eakin, deputy public works commissioner for engineering, said the contract requires Accadia to complete the binder coat of the new pavement by winter. The final paving and restoration of vegetation along the route can wait until next year, he said.
The Legislature also is expected to award a $23,495 contract to Parise Mechanical of the Town of Tonawanda for a new rooftop air handling unit at the Shaw Building, the headquarters of the county Health and Mental Health departments, on the Mount View campus off Upper Mountain Road.
