The following faculty members of Roswell Park Cancer Institute are among those who received grants totaling more than $3.3 million from federal agencies and other sources: Michael Higgins, associate professor of oncology, Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology, two-year subcontract award of $209,235, from the Defense Department and the University of Nebraska Medical Center; Vijay Jayaprakash, assistant professor in the Department of Dentistry & Maxillofacial Prosthetics, two-year grant of $206,066 from Merck Sharp & Dohme Corp.; Dr. Robert Plunkett, associate professor of neurosurgery, two-year subcontract award of $146,716 from Buffalo BioLabs and National Cancer Institute; Dr. Katerina Gurova, assistant professor in the Department of Cell Stress Biology, one-year grant of $125,000 from NCI; Elizabeth Repasky, professor in the Department of Immunology, six-month grant of $23,767 from Cleveland BioLabs; and Dr. Nathalie Zeitouni, chief of dermatologic surgery, one-year grant of $7,641 from the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery.


Family & Children’s Service of Niagara will present the E. Marie Davis Volunteer Award to Michael A. Piette, a member of the real estate practice group at Jaeckle Fleischmann & Mugel. Piette serves as a director and member of the Executive Committee for Family & Children’s Service of Niagara.


The New York State Realtor Institute awarded Roderick Wright the HOMES (Housing Our Military with Excellent Service) certification. Wright, a broker consultant at Hunt Real Estate ERA, completed 15 hours of specific real estate education developed to assist him in meeting the unique housing and financial needs of military personnel and veterans.
