Aurora/East Aurora

The Aurora Historical Museum’s new home in the Southside Municipal Center will be dedicated during an open house Thursday featuring exhibits about Fisher Price toys, World War I Red Cross efforts and Native American artifacts.

There will be tours of the collection, research center and town archives during the festive gathering from 6 to 9 p.m. at 300 Gleed Avenue.

The Municipal Center is also the new home to the office of Town Historian Robert Goller. He and Historical Society volunteers worked to relocate the Museum to the Municipal Center in conjunction with relocation of Town Hall from the Roycroft Chapel last fall.

Murals that tell the story of Aurora history have been newly installed into the corridor outside municipal offices. Other elements of the museum collection are now on display as well.
