The summer concert season at Artpark opens at 7 p.m Friday with a mainstage amphitheater appearance by roots music collective the Avett Brothers.
Billed as “An Evening with the Avett Brothers,” the show will have no opening act, leaving fans plenty of up close and personal time with the always energetic North Carolina outfit, whose soul-stirring blend of various strains of Americana and roots music has made it one of the most compelling grassroots success stories of the past decade.
Still touring behind last year’s Grammy-nominated “The Carpenter,” the band – Seth and Scott Avett, Bob Crawford, John Kwon, Mike Marsh and Paul DeFiglia – is celebrating its 10th year as a touring unit. Reserved seating is sold out; only $38 general admission lawn tickets remain (box office, Artpark.net).
