The longest winning streak in history of the Canisius College baseball came to an end on Sunday in an 11-6 loss in 10 innings to Marist at the Demske Complex.

The Griffins had won 11 in row since since their last loss on April 7. Canisius fell to 31-11 overall and 9-6 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. The streak was also the longest among Division I teams.

Sophomore Connor Panas was 3-for-5 with three runs as the Griffs also saw their eight-game home winning streak end. Ronnie Bernick went 2-for-5 with two RBIs and Jimmy Luppens and Shane Zimmer both homered.

Eric Stolzenburg (1-1) took the loss, allowing two runs, one earned, in an inning of relief. Starter Devon Stewart started for the Griffs and went 6.1 innings, allowing six runs on 10 hits.

Niagara’s baseball team won its series finale against Fairfield rallying to win, 9-8. Jordan Schwartz doubled to center field and drove in a pair for his third and fourth RBIs helping the Purple Eagles move to 15-28 overall and 9-9 in the MAAC. Fairfield is 12-25 and 4-11 in the MAAC. Reliever Geoff Soja allowed just on base runner in the ninth for his sixth save for NU.
