School districts need to make serious cuts

A few comments on The News article about school taxes: School administrators are wringing their hands in anguish about how they will keep pensions going. Of course, raising taxes is the only thing they know how to do. The time is long past for them to face reality and be administrators.

Schools exist to educate our children, not to entertain them. Long overdue is the idea of the pay-to-play concept in sports programs. It is long past time for teachers to make concessions, like other workers in business and industry. As a retired auto worker of 12 years, my pension has not increased in that time. It’s time for school districts to start cutting. Get real!
