State sorely needs campaign reform
Here in New York, our election system is broken and breeds corruption. Candidates run for office with a few huge contributions from special interest groups, leaving the citizenry out of the process.
With publicly financed Fair Elections, candidates raise small contributions from everyday folks. The impact of their donation is multiplied because it’s matched with public funds. With Fair Elections, we’ll finally have a say in who represents us in Albany.
It’s time to put voters first in Albany. Pass a comprehensive campaign reform bill for all New York State elections. Publicly financed elections, lower contribution limits and stronger disclosure rules will keep lobbyists and corporations from stealing our democracy.
