NORTH TONAWANDA – This year’s first veterans forum – on disease and care issues – is scheduled for this week, organizers said.
The forum will take place at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in City Hall, with a presentation about infectious disease and precautions to guard against illness to be given by Dr. John Sellick, an epidemiologist at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
An informal conversational session will follow the talk. Brian Stiller, director of the VA Western New York Healthcare System, will join Sellick.
The veterans forums are evening programs organized by City Clerk-Treasurer Scott Kiedrowski. They will be held in the Common Council Chambers at 216 Payne Ave.
“Anyone’s welcome to attend,” Kiedrowski said. “It’s good for everybody.”
Kiedrowski will also talk at the event about a plan to organize a bus trip for interested veterans to the Niagara County Clerk’s Office in Lockport, where they can arrange for veterans discount cards.
Light refreshments will be served at the forum.
