OLEAN—Mayor Linda Witte on Tuesday released a 2010-11 budget of $15,925,177 during a meeting of the Common Council.
“We are trying to keep the tax rate flat this year, or up only slightly,” Witte said.
The tax rate is projected at $14.24 per $1,000 of assessed valuation, with a 4.25 percent increase in the tax levy, to $6,902,949. The budget also projects a spending increase of $425,765, or 2.7 percent, from 2009-10.
The final budget must be adopted by April 15.
