Two officers injured in West Seneca arrest

Story tools:

Two West Seneca police officers suffered minor injuries Thursday when a man fought with them as he was being placed under arrest, police said.

Arz Mazeh, 29, of West Seneca, was charged with assault, resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration, disorderly conduct and harassment. He is in the Erie County Holding Center in lieu of $2,500 bail set Friday by West Seneca Town Judge Richard B. Scott.

About 4:30 p. m., Officers Brian Cosgrove and Bryan French investigated a report of aggressive driving at Harlem Road and Seneca Street, where they discovered a car accident and Mazeh threatening two females, police said.

When the officers confronted Mazeh, he became belligerent, argumentative and disorderly, police said. And when told he was under arrest, he fought with them until he was subdued, police added.

Cosgrove and French were treated in Mercy Hospital, then released.
