The Chautauqua Winter Games are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday at the Jamestown Savings Bank Ice Arena.
Skaters will participate in a "fun" figure skating event that begins at 11 a.m. Saturday with opening ceremonies in which all competing skaters will enter the Arena displaying their club banners. Two hundred skaters from New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Florida are entered in the event. Figure skating takes place from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free.

BASKETBALL: There will be AAU tryouts from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the William and Emslie YMCA in Buffalo, 585 William St. Tryouts are open to players in grades three through five as well as sixth-graders who have a date of birth after September. The team will travel to spots in the midwest and northeastern part of the country for tournaments as well as Orlando, Fla., where it will participate in an event April 2-4 at the Wide World of Disney Sports Complex. FOOTBALL: The Western New York Football Coaches Association will meet and present a free coaches clinic at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Elks Club in Lancaster, 33 Legion Parkway. University at Buffalo football coach Jeff Quinn will introduce his staff and highlight his vision of UB football at the event. All area youth, scholastic and college coaches are welcome. SKATING: The South Park Youth Association is sponsoring a free open skate for all ages from 2-3:30 p.m. Feb. 15 at Cazenovia Park Ice Rink. Refreshments will be served and prizes awarded.
