Romulus Women’s Club will meet at 6:30 p. m. today in Green Acres School, 2095 Yorkshire Drive, Tonawanda. Members will play card games and assemble baskets for auction at its St. Joseph’s Table. Mary La Porta is chairwoman.

The local chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association will present its annual “Memories in the Making” art auction from 6 to 8:30 p. m. Feb. 19 in Asbury Hall at Babeville, 341 Delaware Ave. The event will feature a silent auction of 35 watercolor paintings created by Western New Yorkers with dementia, and a live auction of five watercolors each accompanied by a complimentary piece of artwork by community artisans. Hors d’oeuvres and wine will be served. For tickets, priced at $50 each, call 626-0600 by Feb. 12.

The Katharine Pratt Horton Buffalo Chapter of the National Society, Daughters of the American Revolution, will have a board meeting at 10:30 a. m. Feb. 15 in the chapter house. A 1 p. m. general meeting will include the election of a nominating committee. Kathy Schwedt and Mary Koszelak will present the program, “Mary Smith Lockwood:Who Was She?”
Gloria Cannon and Marcia Turley are hostesses.

John Rodgers will receive the 2010 Service to Mankind Award from the Western New York and Finger Lakes Chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society during the chapter’s 18th annual Diamond Ball on Feb. 27 in Samuel’s Grande Manor, Main Street, Clarence.
Stanley Kozlowski, president of KeyBank’s Western New York District, is chairman of the ball.
Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres will be served from 6 to 7:30 p. m., during a silent auction and raffle. Dinner will follow. Guests will receive a pouch containing a gemstone, with one containing a one-carat diamond stone.
Rodgers is executive vice president and chief marketing officer for Independent Health. He is being honored for his leadership and dedication to the society and its mission. He has been a member of the society’s board of trustees since 2005 and served on the Light the Night Walk and Diamond Ball committees. Rodgers chaired last year’s ball.
